Mydin plans to open nine more supermarkets


       Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd. will open nine more hypermarkets MYDIN nationwide next year with investments of RM1.03 billion. Among the chosen location is Sebang Island in Melaka; Samariang and Vista Tunku in Sarawak; Jengka in Pahang; Mutiara Rini in Johor; Senawang in Negeri Sembilan; Phase Sungai Petani Kedah and Sepanggar in Sabah. Mydin currently has 20 hypermarkets, including the latest one in Bukit Mertajam who inaugurated today than six premium supermarket Sam's Groceria. 
Its managing director, Datuk Dr. Ameer Ali Mydin said Mydin make substantial investments to bring Mydin to the public and give them the option to get a variety of daily necessities at low prices. Besides, Mydin will also explore the market in Sabah and Sarawak to open three supermarkets. In addition, in the current economic slowdown, Mydin took the opportunity to offer more products at bargain prices. As all know, the brand is famous for the wholesale price Mydin also helps them to compete in the retail market. The opening of new premises of Mydin also creates 600 jobs for the locals and these also help local entrepreneurs.
